The District Of Columbia, long known as the "muder capital of the world" because it has the highest per capita murder rate on the planet, announced yesterday that it had hired a new polce chief, retired Deputy Chief Fred Thomas. Mr. Thomas is quoted in today's Washington Times as saying: "Unfortunately, a lot of the crime and violence has been driven by our youths--and for the past seven years, I've been working with them." Guess things aren't going to change too much...
