BTW, that joke about UNIX (New York) and OS/2 (Los Angeles) was pretty funny.

So, what is VMS? Chicago? An old pioneer with roots going everywhere, firmly tied up and not about to move?

What is DOS? Washington? Having laws against tall buildings, surrounded by a Beltway, unable to expand, civilized by day, and chaotic and riotous by night, incapable of ruling itself, supported by lobbyists and special interests to the detriment of the users?
