I was discussing CPU allocation in our lab with a colleague, Steven Brenner, and we observed that how some people who were running their jobs at very low priority were basically not getting any CPU time at all whereas others (like me) who were running at jobs at higher priority on the same machines were basically hogging all the CPU.

Then the old adage dawned on us:

Nice jobs finish last.
