When the National Hockey League officials decided to strike earlier this week, the league was ready. "We've had a contingency plan since the start of this season in case this happened," said a representative of the league office. "In order to assure that the games go off without a hitch, we had a list of replacement officials already selected. When the strike was called, we overnight-mailed them their game assignments and tickets to their game sites on American Airlines." (Original.
