I remember reading on rec.games.mud a few days ago about some person's idea of object-oriented security that he/she was trying to build into a new program. The basic concept was that an object could only communicate with other objects that it was explicitly given references to. It only occured to me yesterday to wonder how an object actually gets another object's "handle". Do they advertise in the personals column? WANTED! Lonely, single object seeks companion for an evening of romantic method calling. Or maybe they just go on Studs... Brian Edmonds (MSc CompSci) edmonds@cs.ubc.ca
