This is an absolutely true story.
I took my two boys to eat at the local Golden Corral Buffet Restaurant for Sunday brunch. After we sat down, about 50 soldiers came in to dine.
My youngest son, Alex, age 8, looked at all the soldiers in their camo fatigues, and asked me:
"Daddy, what are all the soldiers doing here?"
Like any good (and lazy) father, I viewed this as a learning experience.
"Well, what do YOU think they're doing here?"
He thought about it for a moment, then confidently stated:
"Well, they caught Saddam, so I guess they deserve a treat!"
After I'd finished snorting coffee through my nose, I started to wonder what he'd consider to be an appropriate reward for catching Osama, but I didn't have the guts to ask him.
