There are repercussions if the hackers who recently attacked the web sites of internet companies like E*Trade, Yahoo!, Amazon and Buy.com are caught. According to an AP report,
"Hackers could face maximum penalties of 5 to 10 years behind bars and fines up to $250,000, or in some cases `twice the gross loss to the victim,' said FBI cyber-security expert Ronald Dick."
I guess that means that these money-losing companies will have to pay the hackers for the downtime.
