The following is (mostly) true and is original by me. Various U.S. news networks are reporting the discovery of four very young kittens in the San Onofre nuclear power plant (north of Oceanside in Southern California). The kittens are named Alpha, Beta, Gamma and Neutron. The kittens are in fact contaminated with radioactive isotopes (NBC News mentioned cesium and another I forget). It will take over seventy days to decontaminate them, after which they can leave the plant. Why will it take so long? Well, the four kittens have a total of seventy-two half-lives amongst them!
