This really happened, and I am really, really ashamed of myself.

At a wedding in California, I saw a very old lady being pushed in a wheelchair by a young woman. "That's the bride's mother," the person next to me said. "She has severe Alzheimer's. The bride had to pay for her nurse to fly out from the East Coast with her."

Without thinking I asked, "Why didn't they just take her to a wedding near her house and tell her it was her daughter's?"
