The night before the primary elections here in California, I was watching a campaign commercial that started with a news clip of the school shooting in Oregon. The announcer said, "What's happening in our schools today?" followed by another news clip of a young girl describing the event: "We heard shots, then we came out and saw these bodies laying on the ground."

Boy, our schools have declined. It should be "...bodies _lying_ on the ground."
