UK election

P.H.J.Davies@reading.ac.uk (Philip H. J. Davies)
(smirk)

An observation on the recent UK election by British commedian Angus
Deayton (on BBC 2's 'Have I Got News for You'), and the victory by Labour,
traditionally the left wing party of the so-called 'working classes' and
the Trade Unions:

'The majority won by New Labour includes 55 lecturers, 49 teachers, 32
journalists, 31 lawyers and 16 company directors although it retains its
working class credentials -- one MPs mum used to have a coal fire.'
