A friend noticed this at the bottom of the January edition of my apartment building newsletter which is published by the landlord. (Aylmer Court, Issue 7, misdated January 1996 nonetheless) "We wish everyone who will be celebrating their birthday this year the very best." I guess they're expecting quite a few people not to make it?
