(Heard on the business news program "Marketplace" on 2 October 1996) _Demise of the Cannabis Channel_ It appears that a Dutch group preparing a satellite/cable "All-Cannabis (Marijuana) News Channel" has abandoned the project shortly before it was to go live. The group planned to feature articles on all things "pot," from the role of hemp in the textile industry to the medicinal uses of the plant. However, it ultimately became apparent that the staff was not up to the challenge of the demands that came with such an undertaking. The following was a quote from one of the project leaders: "Unfortunately, cannabis does not give you the ability..., when you smoke it..., to deal with time...."
