I was reading about a Republican straw poll recently held in Iowa to discover who the likely presidential candidates are for 1996. The article included a quote from Pennsylvania Senator Arlen Specter where he said, "... there is no place [in the Republican party] -- no place whatsoever -- for the philosophy of excluding others." Republicans obviously agreed as he received only 6 votes out of 1,349.
