It's all a matter of manners.

This was a conversation overheard in a Berkeley living room
some 20 years ago.

Several distaff members of a family were scandalized because a
young niece was pregnant and didn't know who the father was.
Finally Hannah, going on 90, spoke up and said, "It's simply
a matter of manners." "Why what do you mean?" "Well, in my day,"
she explained, "one always asked: With whom do I have the
pleasure?"
