Heard on NPR's Weekend Edition Aug. 22, 1992: The top two names on Ross Perot's short list for VP last March were William French Smith and Cokie Roberts. Smith, the former Attorney General, has been dead for two years and Roberts first heard about the list during the week ending 8-22, according to the announcer.
