Towards the end of my first semester as a teaching assistant, I had to give the students a questionnaire so they could evaluate my teaching.
The questionnaire had a space for general comments as well. I am not a native born American, which I think motivated one student to write, "He speaks English good." I, of course, was flattered. Thankfully, I was not a T.A. in the English department.
