Recently federal judges have been repudiating the executive branch of government on some fairly weighty matters; ruling, for example, that american citizens cannot be imprisoned without trial, charge, or communication even if someone does label them "terrorists," and that the prisoners at Guantanamo bay are in fact entitled to trials and representation.
But we didn't suspect it was getting personal until Judge Friedman ruled that on John Hinckley's unsupervised excursions, he has to stay within 50 miles of Washington DC....
