The original "Star Trek" was based in the 23rd century. "The Next Generation" was set in the 24th. So where do we go from there with the next post-"Voyager" series?...
According to writer/producer Brannon Braga: "Not to sound pretentious, but it's got to be something that takes Star Trek into the 21st century."
Somehow I doubt that's as pretentious as he thought it might be.
